Spillian Wedding with Joyce and Matt in Fleischmanns New York

Running a boutique photography business has loads of perks, I have to admit.. One of my favorites, however, is all the amazing people I get to meet along the way. I’ll never forget that very first email from Joyce and the vision she and Matt were creating for their big day and a Spillian Wedding sounded so perfect in every way. I was thrilled when they hired me to capture this magical day and I’m now over the moon with how their images came together.

To start – Spillian is a magical place. The Upstate New York location is dreamy and a reasonable distance from the NYC area and the house is extraordinary. With a staff who truly cares and is so attentive to all the details and guests – its easy to feel pampered here. Toss in about 60 family and friends who clearly find laughing the best past-time ever, some delicious food, cake and s’mores and you have a full-out amazing night.

Though bittersweet to wrap up the gallery, this night will remain on my short-list of favorite evenings.

Conservatory Garden Central Park Wedding with Thyana and Aquil

When Thyana reached out to me, she and Aquil had a vision for a much different wedding.. Their wedding day canvas started with a church and full reception. But as they started planning (as it seems so often happens), they felt they weren’t creating a wedding that resonated in their souls. Quickly their vision started shifting into their stunning Conservatory Garden Central Park Wedding. An early bloom brought down the Wisteria which draped over their ceremony – creating a gorgeous canopy of flowers.

They rented out La Maison d’Art Hotel in the heart of Harlem – for both getting ready and for a brunch with all their family and friends. This space is exquisite and a perfect place to have an intimate wedding. With a quick taxi to and from North Central Park their wedding day flowed seamlessly. And the art in the Hotel is such a unique and beautiful ambiance for the festive atmosphere.

This wedding speaks so beautifully to my heart and I loved every moment capturing this day for Thyana and Aquil – from their selections on location, the love within their family and friends, the solid love they have for each other and the talented vendors they asked to help bring everything together.. Upstate New York Photography with Kyle and Autumn

Kyle and Autumn suggested the idea of doing our engagement session near her folks place in Upstate NY.. It doesn’t take much to convince me to head out of NYC, and I’m so happy we did! The weather was insane – as in snowing in May – the geography a dream and of course, Kyle and Autumn beyond adorable. They showed me around as though I was a welcomed guest staying at the cabin and we simply had a blast. I think Upstate New York photography sessions are my new obsession.

Meandering through the rolling hills of Autumns childhood haunts, soon to be Kyle’s new adventures was perfect in every way. I could not have been more giddy for our time together and I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed taking them!

And the Log Cabin seen in the images towards the end of the blog is available for rent! The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley Engagement Session with Carrie and David

There’s so much I adore about engagement sessions. I love the freedom, the flexibility, the opportunity to collaborate with a couple on their vision and then exploring some place new. Even if I’ve been to that ‘new’ place before – there is always a sense of uniqueness as we’re working on the couples particular style.When Carrie mentioned wanting a Saucon Valley Engagement Session at the Promenade Shops; the location where they had their first date and that David later proposed, I couldn’t help but feel giddy.

We spent the afternoon meandering the sidewalks, window shopping, sipping a drink and enjoying easy conversation. It’s these little moments that make capturing the soul of their relationship on the wedding day so very easy. We sat on the bench where Carrie waited for David on their 1st date. The same bench where he asked for her hand. We sat at the bar where they got to know each other on that fateful first day. We walked the same sidewalks they did that day – which is an amazing element to add to their wedding story.

I would love to have had photos of Gavin and I where we had our 1st date. Where he proposed.. This was such a great idea – I just wish I had thought of it 8 years ago 🙂
