If you follow me on Facebook, you may have noticed my post the other day mentioning how I’d woke up in the morning feeling pretty lousy. You know those days – when you just think everything you do and are doing sucks, everything is falling apart and the house and chores are never ending? Yep. It was that sort of day.

Then I met up with Milo to capture his 2nd birthday. Being around such a wonderfully kind, interesting and interested group of people, with my gear hanging from my shoulders was exactly what I needed. It was an absolutely perfect day, fun and playful party, perfectly suited for a 2-year old. And Governor’s Island is simply the best place to have a kids birthday party. From the excitement of the ferry, to the activities of the island, it’s truly the perfect day-get-away within the city.

And of course there’s the birthday boy himself. He may have stolen my heart. I’ve been watching this kid for a year now, and he is growing into one of the sweetest boys. Ever.

I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I enjoyed taking them! And if you’d like to see the complete gallery, you can pop over just here: Birthday Boy

It’s been a crazy summer – and I’ve been insanely lucky in participating in some extremely fun weddings. This one was absolutely no exception. Shooting for Cyrience Creative Studio’s at this Fox Hollow Wedding in Woodbury, New York shortly after we discovered we work really well together earlier in the season.

We sped out to Long Island early in the morning (girls need to get some Starbucks in, right?) and immediately began scooping our locations. The day was perfect and could not have been made any better, particularly after meeting Angie and Kenny. Both athletic, outrageously tall (as in 6’9″!), fun and beautiful. Following the intimate ceremony that was tucked away in a garden setting, we moved into the Fox Hollow.

And here is where the festivities began. Everyone danced. As in, everyone. And it was gloriously joyful!

Getting to participate in a wedding through the lens of a second shooter has opened my eyes to paying attention to the ‘behind the scenes’ moments, the guests and the quieter moments. It’s been a fantastic experience and I am enormously grateful to Jen for inviting me in to help in such a way. I’m crazy late on this post. In part, I’ve been busy trying to make sure my business is humming along nicely. In part I’ve been enjoying every mili-second of our summer (my first ‘at home’ summer with the boys!!), in part because I’m also up to my eyebrows in cleaning Cheerios out of the DVD player for the umpteenth time.

But better late than never, right?

This was our 4th of July weekend. Simple awesomeness of vacationing with friends, digging in the sand, making puppets, reading books and enjoying the carnival on Jenkinsons Boardwalk in Point Pleasant, NJ. It was our first trip ‘down the shore’ as they call it in New Jersey. And it was a lovely time.

Hope you enjoy the pics!

Doing what I do, I’ve seen so much inspiration and so very many creative ways of celebrating life. This little session was nothing short of inspirational for me within my own little crew. With a focus on being a NYC elopement, intimate wedding and lifestyle photographer, this little session completely captures what I love to do with my days. A leisurely stroll through this magnificent city while freezing moments in time.

Angelia approached me in hopes of getting some ‘NYC’ photos of her and her daughter – who was just turning 10 years old and they were traveling up from Georgia! To celebrate her daughters big 1-0, or double digits as I remember calling it oh so many years ago, the girls are offered a trip of their choosing. There choice, their trip, just the two of them. I think this is just brilliant. I remember a ‘mom-and-me’ trip to Florida when I was just 16 – and it is definitely one of my favorite vacations. I still laugh at all the silliness and jokes we shared!

Aside from the crazy awesome idea, they were just so sweet and gorgeous to photograph. A much quieter session than my normal toddler times or hustle of a wedding day, it was a wonderful change of pace. A quiet and casual stroll through the park snapping away at this beautiful girl as she enters into the pre-teen years was a perfect way to spend a Tuesday morning.

I hope you enjoy this session as much as I do! I can’t deny it’s definitely one of my favorites..

Shooting for Josh Strauss Studio’s, this gorgeous wedding took place at the Prospect Park Boathouse in Brooklyn.

The Boathouse holds a special place in my heart, as my husband and I almost married here. The deposit was down and all. However, we went another direction. My heart still remembers the beautiful wedding we created in our hearts that almost took place at the Boathouse. Seeing such a gorgeous event as Jaime and Alina’s just made my heart sing. I am so grateful to have been a part of this beautiful day. They are such a stunning couple, with dance moves that truly should be on stage. I hope you enjoy the images as much as I enjoyed taking them!
