Montclair NJ Photography – Engagement Session with January and Haba

These two. Holy Moly – easily the most athletic duo I’ve ever worked with. And oodles of fun to boot! I’ve known these guys for a few years now and love how organically their wedding day is coming together. You know when you’re around a couple and you can simply feel the joy and love emanating from them? Yep. That’s them. So full of smiles, snuggles and clearly love being around one another. We chose a local park – Brookdale Park – for a Montclair NJ Photography session to roam and explore to grab a few pre-wedding photo’s.

Such a fun afternoon – I can’t wait for their November wedding!

Lyndhurst Castle Wedding with Victoria and Ryan Published with Style Me Pretty

It’s not every day I get invited in to photograph a wedding in a castle.. And a Lyndhurst Castle Wedding is every bit as beautiful and elegant as it gets. Lyndhurst Castle is perfectly settled in the Hudson Valley with peek-a-boo views of the Tapenzee Bridge. Adding in some beautiful styling, a beautiful couple and fun guests and this wedding was simply dreamy.

Photographing for Cyrience Creative Studios is always a highlight for me. Jen and I make such a great team, I find our styles compliment each other beautifully. Mint Wedding Cinematography was there for video, and the three of us working together is like a beautifully coordinated dance.

The fun and easy-going nature of Victoria and Ryan made the day perfect. Cocktail hour is a lovely transition between the ceremony to the reception which allows the newly wedded couple to take a moment and capture a few photos and guests to start the reception festivities. In true Irish nature, Victoria and Ryan added games to their day – and if it weren’t for a little bit of rain, I think their guests would have loved to play through the night! With a creative flare, Ryan hand-made several of the cocktail-hour games, including the life-size Jinga blocks!

Loantaka Brook Reservation Trail with My Guys

A little something different for today!

This summer has felt to me like a perfectly aged glass of wine – or a guitar in perfect tune. The perfect temperature – neither too hot nor too cold. Everything simply and magically coming together as I’d always hoped, without realizing the dream even existed. This summer, we’re all on 2-wheels (whootwhoot!). So with these new wheels and freedom, the boys and I have set out to explore new trails and towns, places we’ve not yet been. It’s become such a fun part of our summer – Aiden asks me each week which trail we’ll explore this week.. These are a few moments from our recent trip to Loantaka Brook Reservation Trail.

We’ve predominately used the Rails to Trails Conservancy as our guide as it’s insanely resourceful – especially when determining if a trail will be good for the kiddo’s (read: paved vs dirt, parking, length, hills and such). Loantaka has quickly become one of our favorite places – easy paved trail with picnic areas and restrooms on either end of the trail plus a kids playground at the end of one path. We could likely do this trail every week and be happy – but we’re explorers this summer! And we’ll press on in our adventures!

For the tech-y specs, these were all shot on my Canon AE-1 + Fuji Superia (the cheap stuff from the corner store) and processed by the awesome folks at The FINDLab. And yes – I’m also working on my selfie-skills – but it’s a start!

Long Island City Photo Session with Aimee Isobe

This day was a whole lot of pretty!! Aimee Isobe reached out to me in need of photographs for her social media and band website. Following her vision for photos around Moma PS1, we collaborated this Long Island City photo session. There’s just so much I adore about our session together! When traveling, it’s often that we do not end up in any of the photo’s of our journeys. And if you’re anything like me, travels and adventures occupy a whole lotta what I love about life! Capturing this time with Aimee was simply perfect. It turned into an afternoon of wandering, exploring and catching some images when the location and light felt right.

Hudson River Photography Session with Sophie and Trooper

Sophie just turned 2. And I was there to capture that, too – maybe you saw her birthday party blog? Trooper missed the party, however. As big of a lover as he is, he does tend to tower over two year olds, so we opted to catch Sophie and Trooper together on separate day with this little Hudson River Photography session.

I could photograph these two each and every day of the week. Both determined, gentle and set on what they want to do – they are a perfect match for each other. Each request was responded with a look of understanding followed by exactly the opposite of the request – and I’m sooooooo in love with each and every image. As catching souls doing what souls naturally want to do is nothing short of magical

So meet Sophie and Trooper. The most adorable duo along the Hudson River!

A little image elaborations – on the last image (and cover). We asked during the entire session for a hug or snuggle, which were kindly declined. And just as I was about to unhook my cameras, that moment happened. So fleeting, so quiet. I barely had time to get my camera to my eye and the moment passed. And I thought – if that is image is entirely blurry, I’m still including it in the collection. I am over the moon with what popped up in my email last night when the scans were sent my way.
