Montclair Wedding Sanctuary with Liz and E’Liz

Insanely talented friends getting married make for a wedding unlike any other. Selecting the First Congregational Church Montclair NJ for their wedding venue was an easy one. With E’Liz singing in the church choir every Sunday, her love for the FCC is tangible. Liz and E’Liz – both being vocalists – created an entire ceremony around not only gorgeous vows and words, but with music. The songs and words flowed together so seamlessly – the afternoon was full of gentle crests of laughter, tears and simple amazement as the music reached the cathedral ceiling.

Being an insanely talented duo naturally brings an incredibly talented team vendors together, making for one very special day. The radiant joy and voices that reach the Heaven’s? That’s all them.

This wedding is so dear to my heart – I hope you enjoy the images as much as I do! And you must check out the short film at the end! This was E’Liz’s extraordinary gift to Liz on their wedding day – 4 years in the making for this fun animation of their beginnings.

NYC Elopement – Sunrise to Sunset with Steph and Brad

11.09.15

I knew this wedding, and Steph and Brad would become dear to me the moment Steph’s email landed in my inbox. From that first email that worked it’s way through Australian cyber-nets, across the oceans and lands I’ve never stepped foot on, I knew Steph and I were going to become great friends. We plotted we planned, we swapped stories and shared photo’s of our minions. By the time Sept. 2nd arrived – I felt Steph, Brad and I were best of buds who simply hadn’t seen each other in a bit! I learned that Steph and Brad were high school sweethearts, who simply lost touch through the years. When Brad was perusing vintage items for a work project, he stumbled across Steph’s Vintage Goddess website and immediately recognized her photo.! The rest of the story you know and led us to this perfect NYC Elopement 🙂

Meeting up at the 72nd St. entrance to Central Park at 6:00am, we had a goal to be on Bow Bridge for sunrise. Though we took a few moments en route – as I’ve never ever seen Bethesda Terrace without a crowd – we were on the bridge when the sun rose. Followed by a meandering trek through the park, we whisked away to Grand Central and then to the Top of the Rock. It was Steph and Brad’s dream to tour the City on their wedding day – and we made sure to capture them all. We even found time to have a quick Starbucks breakfast break in Maddison Square Garden with my husband!

The day unfolded magically. With every little moment unfolding as if the universe were singing – ‘Yes!! Enjoy this glorious day on me!’. With a side note of mischievous humor. And with dinner reservations at The River Cafe, one of my most coveted NYC dinner’s, we met for a few more pics before they snuggled up to the City Lights coming on.

As if the day couldn’t have been more – well – simply more! Style Me Pretty picked up their story and chose to publish it on their blog.

Intimate Brooklyn Wedding with Kiersten and Alexander at the Bacchus Bistro

Photographing this intimate Brooklyn wedding has been a highlight to my 2015. Bacchus Bistro has the perfect set-up to host a small wedding – and beautifully so! With their comfortable bar area, beautiful garden and alcove area perfect for an intimate gathering – this little Brooklyn gem will remain close to my heart.

Kiersten and Alexander have their roots in Brooklyn and Bacchus Bistro was the perfect place to bring together their closest family and friends to celebrate their beginnings. With such a heartfelt day, I’m happy to have been shooting for Clean Plate Pictures alongside Tanya bringing this day together.

Central Park Photography with Nadine and Mackenzie

Sometimes I’m invited into a session that’s a little off my regularly walked path of weddings and family sessions. This session was just one of those days. Nadine and Mackenzie have been best of friends from their earliest days. However, as is with many friendships, moving and geography have made their day-to-day interactions sparse. With Nadine turning 15, her parents couldn’t think of a better gift than to bring the girls together for a weekend get-together. We connived and collaborated (as this was a surprise to the girls!) and agreed that a little lower east Central Park photography would be an ideal setting for some quiet moments between the friends as well as some essential NYC street shots.

Earlier this year, I was asked to photograph a similar session – but this time the girls were in their 30’s and this ‘girls weekend’ had been tradition throughout their lives.

Putting friends, family and our relationships at center stage gives me goosebumps. I’m simply overjoyed with this session and hope you enjoy the images, too!

North Jersey Lifestyle Photography with Tiffany, Chris and Crew

Sometimes in life, we search for a way to express ‘Thank You’ in a way that’s deeper and more meaningful than our everyday ‘thanks’. This is exactly how I came to photographing this little North Jersey lifestyle photography session.

On my Aiden’s first day of Kindergarten he came running out of school declaring ‘I LOVE MY TEACHER!!!’. That adoration only grew throughout the year. When Tiffany shared with the class that she was expecting her own little one – offering her a photography session seemed only fitting. In our school system, parents are invited to volunteer – which gave me so much time to admire how truly patient, kind, assertive without a dash of coldness, fair and just Tiffany is with all her children. Watching her in action with 20+ 5 year olds was nothing short of inspiring and I’ll be forever grateful this was Aiden’s introduction into his life of education. Chris even came in and participated in the class during his schools spring break – which was all the joy for the kids! Love love love this little family.

And selfishly – I got to capture all these beautiful moments. I truly couldn’t be more thrilled with them.
