The light was getting low and we debated whether there would be enough light for our Kilgore Falls, MD Maternity Photography session. Of course, heading somewhere else ran us into the same problem. We chose to give it a shot as our time was not only limited by the light, but of the new arrival, well, arriving. There weren’t many days left to reschedule.

It was the best decision. We used every little bit of that fading sun and strolled out of the trails with the sun below the horizon.

Kilgore Falls was the best for such a session; lots of adventure, but not too much with the trails and hills creating a bountiful and tangible magic. Stepping into the river, you can fell it’s healing and nurturing energy. It’s actually a very hard place to leave. Such a perfect place for a new family to visit.

This little session will remain dear in my heart – it’s also a little past due in posting. The little one has already arrived and absolutely beautiful! I’ve no doubt he’ll love one day seeing this time together, in the days before he took his first breath, and how incredibly cool his parents are. Creating the space to capture these transitional times in life is always looked back with ‘I’m so glad we did that!’. We never go wrong when we say yes to the light, yes to exploring, yes to adventure (mindful adventure, of course, lol! Gotta keep safe, after all, right?).

Want to take a hike with me? There are so many amazing trails and vistas to explore in the MD/PA area; email me if you’re curious about a fall session.

Post-Pandemic Photography has picked back up (yay)! And I’m so happy to be back behind the lens. You’ll get to see this beautiful family again real soon as we met more than just once. This little Montclair, NJ Family Photography session was so full of life with Tai loving being both in front and behind the lens (with me!). And with baby #2 on the way, there’s oodles of opportunities to capture their gorgeous smiles, hugs and laughter.

And did you know we moved to Maryland? Yep! Just in time for lockdown, ha!. Though we do love it here and feel very much at home. New Jersey still is home to many of our favorite peoples, however, so we go back often. If you’re considering family pics this year in MD, NJ or PA, let me know. I love the extra excuses to pop up and for that, there is no travel fee between these states.

It has been quite a year (or 2, really!) photographing for me (as in cobwebs and dust bunnies), but the past couple of weeks has been full of inquiries & sessions and there’s so much to love about this session with Meghan (and Bruno!). Meghan was the first friend I made when we moved to Maryland and spending a morning with her; trying to capture her essence, was like sunshine for my soul. I came to know Meghan through her yogic teachings, but have since come to love all of her energetic healing offerings such as Sound Bath (my absolute favorite and seriously, she and her husband Johnny team up for a dynamic healing session with the crystal bowls and gongs!), Kundalini, Kirtan and I’m super excited for our upcoming Reiki session together.

But really, Meghan truly has a magical healing touch and it’s a beautiful gift she shares in our world. I’m so grateful for her. It’s as though Universal energy dances through her and radiates in all she does. If you’re in Harford County and interested in energetic healing, you can find her at Putnam Cottage (http://www.ourhomewithin.com). And if you don’t know anything about energetic healing but curious, check out her website.

As for my photography, this year has offered me much time for reflection, and as much as I’ve loved every wedding I’ve photographed, I’m narrowing my offerings to small weddings, family events & lifestyle sessions & photos for updating your business portfolio; like this little session here. I still travel the East Coast and have broadened my reach to the DC area – so message me if you’re wanting to freshen up the picture frames or your website 🙂

xo! Sarah

A planted seed only blooms when it’s ready. No amount of thinking, wishing or hoping for that little seed to bloom will force it to before it’s time.

Even when that silly bloom seems to make ALL THE SENSE IN THE WORLD, lol! Why I didn’t connect yoga and photography early is beyond me. But, today it makes all the sense, so that’s just what I’m going to do. I’m asking all yogi’s who would like some photos to help a girl out and we’ll do a little exchange – you’ll get professional photos for a ridiculously low rate and I’ll get to update my website. Win Win!

I’m starting with dates and will narrow down location & times as we get nearer to the session and am open to feedback and suggestions on both locations and timing (such as sunrise, mid-day, sunset). For NJ, I’m considering keeping it to Essex County, possibly specific to the Montclair area, but I’m also considering NYC, such as DUMBO. For Maryland, we’ll stick to our little corridor of Harford County and possibly into Baltimore if there is the demand. I will also open up one day at Georgetown Yacht Basin in Galena over the summer (based on a super awesome SUP request!). There’s a few moving parts to that (such as warmer days and wrangling my dad to be the dinghy captain, lol!), so reach out if this suits your offerings and I’ll keep you posted on this date. This session can include SUP imagery and marina photos. Let me know your thoughts!

The dates are:

New Jersey

April 25, 2020

June 6 & 7 2020

Maryland

April 26, 2020

May 30, 2020

June 27, 2020

I also have March 28 as a possibility for anyone looking to get started earlier.

The details are:

$75 – includes 30-minutes of photography & all hi-resolution digital files. This will be at an outdoor location I designate in the above mentioned areas.

$150 – includes 45-minutes of photography & all hi-resolution digital files. You can choose the date and location for this package.

For our session, I recommend you select approximately 8-poses that you are comfortable with and wanting to highlight. I will make verbal adjustments during the pose to assist you in getting exactly what you want, and you can preview the image (on the back of the camera) before we move on to the next pose. This will enable us to dive into the full pose – from the full shot and then any other artistic and detailed angles of the pose. I also recommend coming warmed up if the pose you’d like to capture requires any opening or preparation to come to your fullest expression.

If you’d like to reserve your spot now, contact me directly at: seday@mac.com or 201 290.9164 or Facebook message me. Bookings require a $15 non-refundable deposit to hold your date & time. The remaining balance will be due the day of our session. Alternatively, earmark the dates and reach out to me as we get closer to the dates.

I’m super excited for this project and and thrilled so many yogi’s have expressed interest – if this is successful, I’ll add these to my regular offerings.

xoxo!
